The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Green River Pirates (Green River, UT) and the visiting Altamont Longhorns (Altamont, UT), observed Green River's basketball team overwhelm Altamont by a score of 60-28.

The Pirates (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Pinnacle (Price, UT). The Panthers come into the 1A Region 19 challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Pinnacle was routed by Piute (Junction, UT), 82-56, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Longhorns encounter the Tabiona Tigers (Tabiona, UT) in a 1A Region 22 challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Altamont will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 70-54 non-league win over Bryce Valley (Tropic, UT).
