The Bishop McGuinness Villains nipped the host George Wythe Maroons basketball squad by a final score of 49-45 in Saturday's non-league outing.
Next, the Villains clash with the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix (Winston-Salem, NC) in a 1A Northwest Piedmont outing, on Tuesday, January 7. Bishop McGuinness will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Phoenix enter the outing with a 8-1 record after their 47-45 league loss to College Prep & Leadership Academy (Jamestown, NC).
The Maroons (6-3) will now prepare for their outing against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the Mountain Empire outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Fort Chiswell got by Patrick County (Stuart, VA), 72-44, in a non-league outing.
