In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Mayo Spartans basketball team scored a good 56-45 triumph over the Eagan Wildcats.
The Spartans (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Mankato East (Mankato, MN). The Cougars go into the non-league contest with a 9-1 record. In their last contest, Mankato East topped Delano (Delano, MN), 84-37, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Rosemount Irish (Rosemount, MN) in a AAAA Section 3 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Eagan will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record. The Irish go into the contest with a 3-6 record after their 78-69 non-league loss to Prior Lake (Prior Lake, MN).
