The Izard County Cougars basketball team scored 68 points and limited the visiting Trumann Wildcats to 28 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now possess a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Tuckerman for a 2A Region 2 game on Tuesday, January 7. Izard County will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 56-50 non-league loss to Rivercrest (Wilson, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 17-8.

With the loss, Trumann falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Lonoke (Lonoke, AR) to confront the Jackrabbits in a 4A Region 6 game on Friday, January 10. The Jackrabbits go into the game with a record of 6-8.
