The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Van Wert Cougars (Van Wert, OH) and the host Lincolnview Lancers (Van Wert, OH), observed Van Wert's basketball team overcome Lincolnview by a score of 66-54.

The Cougars (4-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Defiance (Defiance, OH). The Bulldogs come into the Western Buckeye challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Defiance dropped by Lima Central Catholic (Lima, OH), 68-61, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Lancers battle the Spencerville Bearcats (Spencerville, OH) in a Northwest challenge, on Friday, January 10. Lincolnview will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 57-40 non-league win over Kalida (Kalida, OH).
