The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) and the host Resurrection Catholic Eagles (Pascagoula, MS), observed Northeast Lauderdale's basketball team knock off Resurrection Catholic by a score of 61-43.
The Trojans (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Leake Central (Carthage, MS). The Gators come into the 4A Region 4 challenge with a 15-4 record. In their last challenge, Leake Central prevailed over West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS), 81-80, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Lumberton Panthers (Lumberton, MS) in a 1A Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Resurrection Catholic will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 69-36 league win over Salem (Tylertown, MS).
