The Warner Monarchs (Warner, SD) basketball toppled the visiting Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD), 50-41 in Saturday's league bout.
The Monarchs now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Groton for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. Warner will play a Tigers team coming off a 86-11 league win over Redfield (Redfield, SD). The Tigers record now stands at 3-2.
With the loss, Northwestern Area falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Ipswich (Ipswich, SD) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-3. Ipswich lost 51-37 in their recent non-league bout against Timber Lake (Timber Lake, SD)
