The Mt. Zion Bulldogs basketball squad (Jonesboro, GA), was crushed 46-25 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Banneker Trojans (College Park, GA)
With the victory, Banneker advances its record to 5-8 on the year. The Trojans travel to Newnan (Newnan, GA) to meet the Cougars in a AAAAA Region 3 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Cougars enter the battle with a record of 6-7. Newnan won 43-37 in their recent non-league battle against Callaway (Hogansville, GA)
The Bulldogs now own a 2-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Luella for a AAA Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 7. Mt. Zion will meet a Lions squad coming off a 54-49 non-league loss to Westside (Anderson, SC). The Lions record now stands at 10-3.
