In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Chaparral Wolverines basketball team scored a close 37-33 triumph over the Doherty Spartans.
The Wolverines (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Evergreen (Evergreen, CO). The Cougars go into the non-league contest with a 0-2 record.
In their next game, the Spartans battle the ThunderRidge Grizzlies (Highlands Ranch, CO) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Doherty will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Grizzlies go into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 41-17 non-league loss to Pine Creek (Colorado Springs, CO).
