The Phoenix Spartans basketball team (Braithwaite, LA), was overwhelmed 64-19 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Brother Martin Crusaders (New Orleans, LA)

The Crusaders now possess a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Edna Karr for a 5A District 9 battle on Tuesday, January 10. Brother Martin will battle a Cougars team coming off a 50-38 non-league loss to Archbishop Hannan (Covington, LA). The Cougars record now stands at 5-8.

The Spartans (7-9) will now prepare for their battle against Chalmette (Chalmette, LA). The Owls come into the non-league battle with a 6-9 record.
