Northwood Gators (Lena, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA), 70-68 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northwood upgrades its record to 17-1 on the campaign. The Gators travel to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 6. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 16-4. St. Thomas More won 58-57 in their recent non-league bout against St. Martinville (St. Martinville, LA)

Next up, the Bears play the Teurlings Catholic Rebels (Lafayette, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Carencro will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 77-55 league loss to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA).
