The Piute Thunderbirds basketball team scored 68 points and held the host Diamond Ranch Academy Diamondbacks to 45 in the Thunderbirds league triumph on Thursday.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pinnacle for a non-league contest on Friday, January 6. Piute will meet a Panthers team coming off a 70-36 non-league win over Telos (Orem, UT). The Panthers record now stands at 9-4.

The Diamondbacks (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Milford (Milford, UT). The Tigers enter the 1A Region 20 contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, Milford was routed by Valley (Orderville, UT), 61-54, in a league contest.
