Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY), 71-63 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Harlan County upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Black Bears host St. Henry (Erlanger, KY) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 5-7.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Bell County Bobcats (Pineville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. South Laurel will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
