Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars (Bridgeport, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), 68-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Kolbe-Cathedral upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Cougars host New Milford (New Milford, CT) to clash with the Green Wave in a Southwest bout on Monday, January 9. The Green Wave go into the bout with a record of 3-3. New Milford lost 62-42 in their recent league bout against New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Bunnell Bulldogs (Stratford, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Monday, January 9. Pomperaug will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 72-57 league win over Joel Barlow (Redding, CT).
