Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Marion County Knights (Lebanon, KY) and the visiting Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), saw Marion County's basketball squad hold off Russell County by a tally of 66-65.

With the victory, Marion County improves its record to 1-9 on the campaign. The Knights host Hart County (Munfordville, KY) to play the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 4-6.

Next up, the Lakers play the Cumberland County Panthers (Burkesville, KY) in a District 16 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Russell County will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record.
