Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cabell Midland Knights (Ona, WV), 58-53 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Blazer upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Tomcats host Bath County (Owingsville, KY) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Bath County lost 65-46 in their recent non-league bout against Henry Clay (Lexington, KY)

Next up, the Knights play the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers (Buckhannon, WV) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Cabell Midland will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 64-40 league win over Grafton (Grafton, WV).
