North Cross Raiders (Roanoke, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks (Charlottesville, VA), 36-30 in a league bout.

With the victory, North Cross upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Raiders host Fishburne Military (Waynesboro, VA) to play the Caissons in a bout on Thursday, January 12. The Caissons come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Fishburne Military lost 53-27 in their recent league bout against Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Mavericks play the Life Christian Academy Eagles (Chester, VA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Miller School of Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
