The Alton Redbirds basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the host Althoff Catholic Crusaders to 51 in the Redbirds non-league victory on Friday.

The Redbirds now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Collinsville for a Southwestern contest on Tuesday, January 9. Alton will battle a Kahoks team coming off a 42-38 league loss to Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL). The Kahoks record now stands at 17-1.

The Crusaders (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL). The Explorers come into the Gateway contest with a 14-4 record. In their last contest, Marquette Catholic was defeated by Granite City (Granite City, IL), 69-50, in a non-league contest.
