Bunkie Panthers (Bunkie, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Avoyelles Mustangs (Moreauville, LA), 50-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bunkie upgrades its record to 3-9 on the season. The Panthers travel to Jena (Jena, LA) to play the Giants in a 3A District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Giants go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Jena won 64-40 in their recent non-league bout against Calvin (Calvin, LA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Port Barre Red Devils (Port Barre, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Avoyelles will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record.
