The Blue Valley North Mustangs basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Metro Academy Mavericks to 44 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lee's Summit West for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 6. Blue Valley North will battle a Titans team coming off a 63-47 league win over Blue Springs South (Blue Springs, MO). The Titans record now stands at 6-2.

The Mavericks (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Tonganoxie (Tonganoxie, KS). The Chieftains enter the non-league contest with a 0-6 record.
