The Jena Giants basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting Calvin Cougars to 40 in the Giants non-league triumph on Friday.
The Giants now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bunkie for a 3A District 2 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Jena will battle a Panthers team coming off a 50-39 non-league win over Avoyelles (Moreauville, LA). The Panthers record now stands at 3-9.
The Cougars (9-12) will now prepare for their contest against Georgetown (Georgetown, LA). The Bulldogs enter the C District 2 contest with a 15-7 record.
