In Friday's league outing, the Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL), by a margin of 61-58.
The Lions (5-7) will now prepare for their outing against Rochester (Rochester, IL). The Rockets go into the Central State Eight outing with a 8-10 record. In their last outing, Rochester was tipped by Clinton (Clinton, IL), 59-54, in a non-league outing.
The Crimsons now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Glenwood for a Central State Eight outing on Tuesday, January 9. Jacksonville will clash with a Titans squad coming off a 40-36 league loss to Lincoln (Lincoln, IL). The Titans record now stands at 9-7.
