The Smithville Braves basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Moss Pirates to 37 in the Braves non-league triumph on Friday.
The Braves now sport a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Haworth for a McCurtain Six contest on Saturday, January 6. Smithville will battle a Lions team coming off a 100-24 non-league win over Calvin (Calvin, OK). The Lions record now stands at 7-5.
The Pirates (2-12) will now prepare for their contest against Bowlegs (Bowlegs, OK). The Bison enter the Little River contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Bowlegs was routed by Sasakwa (Sasakwa, OK), 44-31, in a league contest.
