The Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) basketball knocked off the host Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL), 59-39 in Friday's league test.

The Pioneers (10-6) will now prepare for their test against Carterville (Carterville, IL). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Carterville went down by Massac County (Metropolis, IL), 56-48, in a league test.

The Senators now own a 3-9 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln for a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, January 9. Springfield will encounter a Railsplitters squad coming off a 40-36 league win over Glenwood (Chatham, IL). The Railsplitters record now stands at 11-5.
