In Friday's league outing, the Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers (Philipsburg, PA) basketball squad felled the host Somerset Eagles (Somerset, PA), by a margin of 48-40.

The Mountaineers (3-8) will now prepare for their outing against Clearfield (Clearfield, PA). The Bison go into the Laurel Highlands outing with a 1-9 record. In their last outing, Clearfield was beaten by Westmont Hilltop (Johnstown, PA), 72-47, in a league outing.

The Eagles now own a 1-10 record. They play next when they travel to Bishop McCort for a Laurel Highlands outing on Monday, January 8. Somerset will encounter a Crushers squad coming off a 48-33 league loss to Central (Martinsburg, PA). The Crushers record now stands at 5-6.
