Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians (Ravena, NY), 56-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Schalmont upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Sabres host La Salle Institute (Troy, NY) to clash with the Cadets in a Section 2 Colonial - Liberty bout on Monday, January 8. The Cadets go into the bout with a record of 7-3. La Salle Institute lost 55-42 in their recent non-league bout against Albany Academy for Boys (Albany, NY)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Ichabod Crane Riders (Valatie, NY) in a Section 2 Colonial - Liberty bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Riders go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 78-51 non-league win over Cobleskill-Richmondville (Cobleskill, NY).
