Bakersfield Drillers (Bakersfield, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Porterville Panthers (Porterville, CA), 46-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bakersfield upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Drillers travel to Independence (Bakersfield, CA) to clash with the Falcons in a bout on Friday, January 12. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 10-3.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Mt. Whitney Pioneers (Visalia, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Porterville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 31-19 non-league loss to Reedley (Reedley, CA).
