Albany Academy for Girls Bears (Albany, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting La Salle Institute Cadets (Troy, NY), 71-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Albany Academy for Girls upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Bears travel to Voorheesville (Voorheesville, NY) to clash with the Blackbirds in a Section 2 Colonial bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Blackbirds go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Voorheesville lost 49-35 in their recent league bout against Academy of the Holy Names (Albany, NY)

Next up, the Cadets clash with the Schalmont Sabres (Schenectady, NY) in a Section 2 Colonial bout, on Tuesday, January 9. La Salle Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Sabres go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 54-17 league win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (Ravena, NY).
