The Central Heights Blue Devils (Nacogdoches, TX) basketball crushed the host Newton Eagles (Newton, TX), 53-22 in Friday's league test.

The Blue Devils (11-9) will now prepare for their test against Huntington (Huntington, TX). The Red Devils go into the 3A Region III District 21 test with a 20-6 record. In their last test, Huntington was trounced by Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX), 54-38, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Diboll for a 3A Region III District 21 test on Tuesday, January 9. Newton will encounter a Lumberjacks squad coming off a 42-37 league win over Woodville (Woodville, TX). The Lumberjacks record now stands at 14-9.
