The Dowagiac Chieftains basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Watervliet Panthers to 29 in the Chieftains non-league triumph on Friday.
The Chieftains now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brandywine for a Lakeland contest on Tuesday, January 9. Dowagiac will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 62-52 non-league win over Hart (Hart, MI). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-0.
The Panthers (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Kalamazoo Christian (Kalamazoo, MI). The Comets enter the non-league contest with a 5-1 record. In their last contest, Kalamazoo Christian was routed by Covenant Christian (Grand Rapids, MI), 68-44, in a non-league contest.
