Utah High School Basketball - Payson thwarts Green Canyon

January 5, 2024: Payson, UT 84651

The Payson Lions (Payson, UT) basketball knocked off the visiting Green Canyon Wolves (North Logan, UT), 51-34 in Friday's non-league test.

The Lions (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Orem (Orem, UT). The Tigers go into the 4A Region 8 test with a 2-9 record. In their last test, Orem went down by Tooele (Tooele, UT), 35-32, in a non-league test.

The Wolves now own a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Ridgeline for a 4A Region 11 test on Thursday, January 11. Green Canyon will encounter a Riverhawks squad coming off a 75-34 non-league win over Corner Canyon (Draper, UT). The Riverhawks record now stands at 12-2.
