Hilltop Lancers (Chula Vista, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Santana Sultans (Santee, CA), 54-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hilltop upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Lancers host Clairemont (San Diego, CA) to play the Chieftains in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 6. The Chieftains go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Clairemont lost 48-8 in their recent league bout against Mission Bay (San Diego, CA)

Next up, the Sultans play the Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA) in a Grossmont - Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Santana will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 53-44 non-league win over Patrick Henry (San Diego, CA).
