The Winnfield Tigers basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Homer Pelicans to 45 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Friday.
The Tigers now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Red River for a 2A District 3 contest on Tuesday, January 9.
The Pelicans (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Haynesville (Haynesville, LA). The Golden Tornado enter the 1A District 1 contest with a 0-11 record. In their last contest, Haynesville was nudged by Lincoln Prep (Grambling, LA), 55-2, in a non-league contest.
