In Friday's non-league outing, the Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) basketball squad edged the host Peabody Warhorses (Alexandria, LA), by a count of 36-32.
The Tigers (11-8) will now prepare for their outing against Washington-Marion (Lake Charles, LA). The Charging Indians go into the non-league outing with a 7-10 record. In their last outing, Washington-Marion was tipped by Pitkin (Pitkin, LA), 59-42, in a non-league outing.
The Warhorses now hold a 3-16 record. They play next when they host Tioga for a 4A District 2 outing on Tuesday, January 9. Peabody will clash with a Indians squad coming off a 48-15 non-league win over North Vermilion (Maurice, LA). The Indians record now stands at 17-5.
