    • Texas High School Basketball - Rains crushes Wills Point

    January 5, 2024: Wills Point, TX 75169

    Rains Wildcats (Emory, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Wills Point Tigers (Wills Point, TX), 49-9 in a non-league bout.

    With the win, Rains upgrades its record to 23-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Commerce (Commerce, TX) to play the Tigers in a 3A Region II District 12 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 22-5. Commerce won 51-30 in their recent league bout against Grand Saline (Grand Saline, TX)

    Next up, the Tigers play the Sunnyvale (Sunnyvale, TX) in a 4A Region II District 14 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Wills Point will attempt to upgrade on its 4-15 season record. The go into the bout with a 23-2 record after their 75-19 league win over Community (Nevada, TX).
