The Sutherland Sailors basketball team (Sutherland, NE), was overwhelmed 63-28 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Sandhills/Thedford Knights (Dunning, NE)
The Knights now possess a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Anselmo-Merna for a D2 District 8 battle on Thursday, January 11. Sandhills/Thedford will confront a Coyotes team coming off a 47-42 non-league loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central (Chambers, NE). The Coyotes record now stands at 5-7.
The Sailors (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Perkins County (Grant, NE). The Plainsmen come into the non-league battle with a 6-4 record. In their last battle, Perkins County trounced St. Patrick's (North Platte, NE), 50-42, in a league battle.
