The Washington Tigers (Massillon, OH) basketball nipped the host Boardman Spartans (Youngstown, OH), 54-51 in Friday's non-league test.

The Tigers (5-3) will now prepare for their test against John Marshall (Cleveland, OH). The Lawyers go into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.

The Spartans now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Austintown-Fitch for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 9. Boardman will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 43-35 non-league win over Canfield (Canfield, OH). The Falcons record now stands at 8-1.
