The New Covenant Gryphons basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting James River HomeSchool Eagles to 36 in the Gryphons non-league triumph on Friday.

In their next game, the Gryphons face the Blue Ridge Barons (St. George, VA) in a game, on Tuesday, January 9. New Covenant will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Barons enter the game with a 0-2 record after their 53-36 league loss to Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA).

With the defeat, James River HomeSchool moves to 1-3 on the year. The Eagles host Fredericksburg Victory (Fredericksburg, VA) to face the Victory in a game on Saturday, January 13. The Victory enter the game with a record of 11-5.
