North Carolina High School Basketball - Sanderson nips Wake Forest

January 5, 2024: Raleigh, NC 27609

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC) and the visiting Wake Forest Cougars (Wake Forest, NC), saw Sanderson's basketball squad hold off Wake Forest by a count of 55-53.

With the victory, Sanderson upgrades its record to 3-8 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Knightdale (Knightdale, NC) to play the Knights in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 8. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Knightdale lost 60-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Enloe (Raleigh, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Leesville Road Pride (Raleigh, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 12. Wake Forest will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Pride come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 57-50 non-league win over Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC).
