Ohio High School Basketball - Newton Local thwarts Ansonia

The Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) basketball knocked off the visiting Ansonia Tigers (Ansonia, OH), 65-52 in Friday's league test.

The Indians (4-5) will now prepare for their test against Houston (Houston, OH). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 2-7 record. In their last test, Houston notched a victory over Fairlawn (Sidney, OH), 31-29, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Mississinawa Valley for a Western Ohio test on Saturday, January 7. Ansonia will encounter a Blackhawks squad coming off a 52-45 league win over Twin Valley South (West Alexandria, OH). The Blackhawks record now stands at 3-6.
