The McDonogh Eagles (Owings Mills, MD) basketball nipped the visiting Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers (Severn, MD), 49-45 in Friday's non-league test.
The Eagles (11-4) will now prepare for their test against Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore, MD). The Gaels go into the non-league test with a 15-2 record. In their last test, Mount St. Joseph got by Calvert Hall (Baltimore, MD), 63-35, in a league test.
The Cavaliers now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Fairfax Christian for a non-league test on Saturday, January 7. Archbishop Spalding will encounter a Cardinals squad coming off a 85-29 league win over Fairfax HomeSchool (Fairfax, VA). The Cardinals record now stands at 7-6.
