Excel Christian Academy Spartans (Lakeland, FL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Winter Haven Christian Warriors (Winter Haven, FL), 73-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Excel Christian Academy upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Discovery (Lake Alfred, FL) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 4-8. Discovery lost 56-51 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Region (Eagle Lake, FL)

Next up, the Warriors play the Candlelight Christian Academy Flames (Lake Wales, FL) in a Central Florida bout, on Monday, January 9. Winter Haven Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Flames come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 59-51 league loss to Winter Haven Christian (Winter Haven, FL).
