Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gateway Eagles (Fort Myers, FL) and the visiting IMG Academy Black Ascenders (Bradenton, FL), saw Gateway's basketball squad wallop IMG Academy Black by a tally of 70-49.

With the victory, Gateway improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Community School of Naples (Naples, FL) to confront the Seahawks in a 3A District 12 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Seahawks come into the challenge with a record of 12-3.

Next up, the Ascenders confront the North Fort Myers Red Knights (North Fort Myers, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. IMG Academy Black will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Red Knights come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 80-67 non-league loss to Gulf Coast (Naples, FL).
