Kennedy Cougars (Cedar Rapids, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA), 89-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Kennedy upgrades its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Linn-Mar (Marion, IA) to play the Lions in a Mississippi Valley bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 2-6.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Evanston Wildkits (Evanston, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 7. Hempstead will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Wildkits come into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 45-43 league win over Maine South (Park Ridge, IL).
