Marco Island Academy Rays (Marco Island, FL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Naples Classical Academy (Naples, FL), 57-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Marco Island Academy upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Rays travel to Cypress Lake (Fort Myers, FL) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 7-1. Cypress Lake won 55-40 in their recent non-league bout against IMG Academy Silver (Bradenton, FL)

Next up, the Academy play the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks (Ave Maria, FL) in a Paradise Coast bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Naples Classical will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Shamrocks go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 56-44 league loss to Neumann (Naples, FL).
