San Perlita Trojans (San Perlita, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears (San Juan, TX), 48-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, San Perlita upgrades its record to 4-13 on the campaign. The Trojans host Bruni (Bruni, TX) to play the Badgers in a 1A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Badgers come into the bout with a record of 3-5.

Next up, the Bears play the Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 bout, on Friday, January 13. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will attempt to upgrade on its 8-17 season record.
