The Martinsville Pirates basketball team scored 44 points and held the host Carlisle Indians to 26 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 8-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wells for a 1A Region IV District 27 contest on Tuesday, January 10.

The Indians (5-14) will now prepare for their contest against New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX). The Hornets enter the 2A Region III District 22 contest with a 0-7 record. In their last contest, New Summerfield was defeated by Cushing (Cushing, TX), 45-18, in a league contest.
