University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad wallop the host PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV), 62-36 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, University improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Spring Valley (Huntington, WV) to confront the Timberwolves in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a record of 6-1. Spring Valley won 49-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV)

Next up, the Panthers confront the East Fairmont Bees (Fairmont, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. PikeView will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Bees come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 86-45 league win over Fairmont Senior (Fairmont, WV).
