Next, the Hornets confront the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) in a 4A Region 7 challenge, on Friday, January 13. Poplarville will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Tornadoes enter the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 2-2 league Greene County (Leakesville, MS).

The Wildcats now have a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Forrest for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 10. Columbia will confront a Eagles team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Columbia (Columbia, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
