Louisiana High School Basketball - Pope John Paul II thwarts Ascension Catholic

The Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting Ascension Catholic Bulldogs (Donaldsonville, LA), 56-36 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Jaguars (14-5) will now prepare for their test against Riverside Academy (Reserve, LA). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 2-8 record. In their last test, Riverside Academy went down by St. James (St. James, LA), 44-40, in a non-league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 3-7 record. They play next when they travel to Episcopal for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 9. Ascension Catholic will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 70-63 non-league win over Red River (Coushatta, LA). The Knights record now stands at 12-8.
